meet the farmers
Debbie & Rod Richardson launched their paddock-to-plate beef business in 2018 with the first delivery from their 670-acre property in the lush and picturesque Running Creek.
Debbie & Rod Richardson
Second generation cattle farmer Rod Richardson purchased the farm at Running Creek in 2010.
A passionate advocate of the tick-resistant Sahiwal cattle breed, he moved his herd to their new home within the next 12 months.
He was soon introduced to a neighbour’s daughter who happened to be visiting from Sydney. Fast-forward 7 years and Rod and Debbie are happily married with Debbie being full-time on the farm since October 2017.
They launched their paddock-to-plate, true grass-fed beef business in October 2018.
Rod has a degree in Commerce and worked in the corporate sector in commercial building, selling and leasing for 20 years.
He stepped back from this to successfully develop the family-farm at Pimpama, now known as Grange Country Estate.
Hailing from the corporate world, Debbie quickly saw that opportunities for diversification existed. Seeing the lush pastures, tasting the fresh Running Creek water and helping farm the cattle inspired her.
Debbie wanted to share her farming experience so she developed Running Creek Beef. She also opened Running Creek Cottage, allowing guests to enjoy their own farm experience.
